There is no real simple way to summarize Deathspell Omega and the releases herein. A screeching pentecost of a recording. A capable balance between the truly frightening and the strangely intelligent. The fierce and violent cast of the music, the sheer blast and flay of the grinding guitars and relentless percussion, are an apt backing for the negating deist poetry spat in anarchic and maniacal nature with animalistic growls and disembodied mutterings. The lyrics clash between the emotional dint of biblicalism and detached statements of intellectual quality. The quasi-Christian assumption of being beyond humanity is ensconced within a duality of which the opposing part is the presumption of the evil of mankind, and perhaps one's willing acquiescence in it; written in brutality - a Summa Diabolica if you like. A willingly perverted eugenics? All this wrapped in a furious amalgam of nitric riffing and a suffocating body of instrumentation. Numbness overcomes me and I can't be happy and I can't be as angry as I should.

Maybe its best simply put as heavy black metal for thinkers.
